	Arthur's five-layer concept

Fire fighters are confronted with new challenges every day. Their fire protective clothing must therefore provide protection against all sorts of risks. Arthur's fire protective clothing is built up of five layers, each with a protective function:

1. Outside heat and cold is blocked by the several layers;
2. Flames, sparkle and chemicals are kept out by the outer layer;
3. The moister barrier protects the inner layers;
4. Perspiration escapes to the outside;
5. The layers keep the body warmth inside the clothing.

The five layers consist of the following:

• outer material (230 g/m² Basofil / Kevlar mixture);
• first heat shield (80 g/m² Viline Fireblocker);
• moisture barrier (Sympatex membrane), laminated onto the first heat shield;
• second heat shield (50 g/m² Viline Fireblocker);
• lining (130 g/m² Basofil / Viscose FR).
